We protect Europe's seas from invisible threats.
Illegal discharges, oil spills and microplastic dumping cost European ecosystems billions every year — and the evidence usually evaporates before authorities can react. SheerSea turns satellite radar, AIS and Galileo OSNMA into a permanent, cryptographically certified record of every pollution event in EU waters.

How it works
Five environmental pillars.
SAR oil-slick detection
Sentinel-1 C-band radar makes oil films appear as dark patches against the rougher sea surface. Our pipeline runs CFAR detection, validates the slick shape and links it back to the AIS track of the closest non-cooperative vessel.
AIS correlation & forensic chain
Each slick polygon is cross-referenced against the AIS history of every vessel that passed within a 12-hour window. The candidate source vessel inherits a Galileo-signed evidence packet — admissible in court.
MARPOL Annex I / V / VI
We monitor compliance with hydrocarbon discharge (Annex I), garbage dumping (Annex V) and air pollution / sulphur cap (Annex VI). Violations are surfaced as alerts and added to the vessel's environmental track record.
Microplastic hotspots
Hydrodynamic models and in-situ samples define recurrent microplastic concentration zones across the Mediterranean, Baltic and Bay of Biscay. We log every transit so litter-source attribution becomes traceable.
Marine Protected Area watch
Continuous surveillance of MPAs (Pelagos Sanctuary, Cabrera, Dogger Bank, North Aegean…). Any uncoordinated entry triggers an `mpa_intrusion` alert with the same evidentiary weight as a customs violation.
